Connecticut’s longest running Shakespeare Festival
will celebrate our 20th anniversary with a production of
A Midsummer Night’s Dream from July 8-25,
on the grounds of Saint Joseph College in West Hartford.
Capital Classics Shakespeare Festival
The family-oriented production, presented in collaboration with Saint Joseph College, will play on the lawn of the
College’s Carol Autorino Center (rain location: the adjacent Hoffman Auditorium). The production will feature a
cast of Connecticut-based professional and student actors and will be preceded by a Theatrical Fair.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream features a cast of 24 performers – seasoned professionals and students from local
theatre programs – and is directed by Capital Classics co-founder Geoffrey Sheehan. An actor, director and
professor of theater at Housatonic Community College, Sheehan appeared as Prospero in last season’s production
of The Tempest. Other core company members include Michael Nowicki as Bottom, Laura Sheehan as Quince,
Gregoire Mouning as Starveling, David Regan as Snout, and James Curley as Egeus. The young lovers will be
played by Hartt theater students Kendra Underwood (Hermia), Sarah Moore (Helena), Robert Sheire (Demetrius)
and Tim Zayas (Lysander). The cast includes David Loeb (Puck), Jovan Davis (Oberon), Blythe Coons (Titania),
Erin Williams (Hippolyta), John Wentworth (Theseus), Erik Bloomquist (Snug) and Jeremy Garfinkel (Flute).
Rounding out the cast is an ensemble of spirits played by Gabrielle Van Horn, Natalie Battistone, Ilana
Moskowitz, Julia Hamilton, Nick DeMarco, Nick Pollifrone, Tom Rash, and Michael Labbadia.
