Laura Sheehan, artistic director and co-founder

Laura holds a B.F.A. in Acting from UConn and an M.A. in English/Dramatic
Literature from Trinity College. She was a lecturer in Dramatic Arts at the University of
Connecticut for six years and a teacher of Theatre at the Greater Hartford Academy of
the Arts for five years. A founding member of Capital Classics, Laura directed The
Tempest, It’s A Wonderful Life On Air, The Capital Classics' Radio Revue, The Lazy
Days of Summer Radio Revue, and A Midsummer at the Bellamy-Ferriday House. She
wrote Homecircles: Chapters in the Life of Noah Webster commissioned by the Noah
Webster House. She has overseen the development and production of numerous Capital
Classics performances and she created the company’s “Living, Breathing Shakespeare”
education curriculum. Favorite onstage roles include: Beatrice in Much Ado About
Nothing, Mistress Quickly in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth,
Lady Capulet in Romeo & Juliet, Antipholous in A Comedy of Errors, and Gertrude in
Hamlet. Laura has professional acting experience in California, Connecticut and the
midwest. She also works as a writer, editor and teacher.
Geoffrey Sheehan, co-founder and artistic associate

Geoffrey is currently an associate professor of Theatre Arts at Housatonic Community
College in Bridgeport where he also serves as the Theatre Arts Program coordinator.
Prior to his work at HCC, Geoff taught theatre in many Connecticut schools and youth
programs. Geoffrey has also worked and performed for many of the area’s professional
companies including Hartford Stage Company, City Stage of Springfield, Hartford
Symphony Orchestra, and Film Fest New Haven where he worked with artists such as
Dan Lauria, Mark Lamos, Marion McClinton, and Reggie Montgomery. For Capital
Classics Geoffrey directed
Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Tempest, The Merry Wives of
Windsor
and Macbeth; he appeared onstage as Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, the
Duke in
Measure for Measure, and the Friar in Romeo & Juliet. Geoffrey received his B.FA.
in Drama from UCONN and his M.A.L.S. in Theatre from Wesleyan University.
Michael Nowicki, artistic associate

Michael has been working with Capital Classics since 1996. He holds a B.F.A. in Acting
from the Experimental Theater Wing at the TISCH School of the Arts at New York
University. In addition, he has studied commedia dell’arte and improvisation at the Dell’
Arte International School of Physical Theatre in California. As a performer, Michael’s
experience is seasoned with numerous professional acting credits, including 5 mainstage
productions and over 15 staged readings with Hartford Stage Company, where he
worked directly with some of theater's luminaries, including two Pulitzer Prize winners
in drama. As an instructor, he has served on many local faculties including the
University of Hartford, the School of the Hartford Ballet and the Hartford Conservatory
and has also taught abroad, with stops ranging from Iceland to Africa to Russia, where
he spent three weeks as an invited guest artist. He was the proud recipient of the 2003
Artist/Instructor of the Year Award from the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts,
where he is a core faculty member. Michael is the artistic director of the Theatre
Program at Simsbury High School.  He has performed, directed and taught for Capital
Classics for the last decade.
