The Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor begins at 5:30 PM.  The pre-show entertainment begins at 5:00 PM and will feature a lecture by Jacopo della Quercia, an award-winning educator, essayist, and novelist. His Shakespearian-inspired works include "License to Quill" and the his latest "MacTrump," which he co-wrote with Ian Doescher (author of the "William Shakespeare's Star Wars"). Jacopo will discuss how he adapts modern-day pop culture and political satire in such a way that it could have been penned by Shakespeare himself. He will also be signing copies of his various works after his talk and during intermission.

  • Be sure to visit the wonderful Art Gallery at USJ — for free — before each performance and during intermission.

  • You can bring your own picnic and beverages or purchase some snacks at the show! At this performance, delicious delights from the remarkable One Song Biscotti, who handcraft unique flavors of biscotti using only the freshest ingredients, will be available for purchase.

  • Audience members should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Seating is not provided beyond the beautiful grass of the lawn.

  • In case of heavy rain, performances will be held inside the adjacent Hoffman Auditorium.
